Quantum of solace

Many nights have passed since,
Empty dreams frequenting often
Blurry vision vanishing slowly,
Time to wake up in reality.

Walking through the desert sands,
Shining sun glaring the eyes.
Not knowing where to go,
Only the trails of her foot remain.

Following the trails ain't easy,
Many a mile to walk ahead.
Unclear of the intentions behind,
Rode my way all along.

Weakening knees posing a threat,
Thirst for water creeping contagiously.
Unable to bear that thought in mind,
Headed to a nearby oasis.

Hurrying toward the elixir,
I stumbled and fell invariably.
Surprisingly spotting her near the oasis,
Made me walk every now and then.

Too tired to drink water from it,
She inclined her earthern pot downwards.
I looked upon to see her face,
She was a classic desert rose.

The fresh nectar fell onto my palms,
I was more than happy to drink.
It quenched the thirst of my life,
A sense of elation arised.

She continued to walk ahead,
But too fast for me.
I tried to keep up the pace,
Only to fall now and then.

It was too late to realise what i drank.
A pot full of poison was worth an oasis of water.
She fed me with atmost innocence,
I was too obliging to drink it.

The shining sun glaring the eyes,
Blurry vision vanishing slowly,
Tears gently flowing by the cheeks,
I lay there in Quantum of Solace.
