Nostalgia

Fragrant flowers intoxicating me,
Cool blue skies peeping in,
Subtle breeze whispering around,
I lay on the grass incapacitated.

A blossoming environment around,
She would have loved to be here.
Only her absence was factual,
Her magnetism still holding me captive.

When we walked through the gardens,
The petals wanted to be touched by her.
So glorious was her presence,
Even the sun would yearn for a glimpse.

She walked through with me,
Not even uttering a word,
Mesmerized by her silence,
Even the waves settled down.

One day standing on the opposite shore,
I dreamt of holding her hand.
Loneliness flowing between us,
Like the towering waves.

Swam across to see her.
One moment she was there,
Next minute she was gone.
Like the lightning of the skies.

Tired of the quest,
Lay under a tree for a sleep,
Drizzles waiting to come down.
After all it was her consideration towards me.

Back to those four walls,
Heart filled with grief.
Trying hard not to think about it,
Only my emotions would burden her more.

Greedy like any other soul on earth,
Wanted her with me always,
Only to fathom that we were two sides of a coin,
Who would never meet .

She was a complicated lyric,
Trying to understand her every time.
My mind realized the impossible,
The heart failed to accept the inevitable.

She brought me boundless joy,
Only to take it back with her.
Leaving me in a cramped life,
With those nostalgic moments to remember.
