Paradise Lost

What a wonderful days those were,
Running down the street like hare
Dressed in a shirt and a jean
Ideal dressing of a college teen.

I was just fresh out of school
Looking at the beauties in college, made me drool
Standing there gaping like a fool
The atmosphere was absolutely cool.

The teachers explaining the concepts in and out
Trying to kindle our engineering skills to sprout
Making our brains blow out
Sleep pulling us to the bench to crouch.
Then we did have our lunch
sat together as a bunch
Then slowly did we raise our cupidity
Which seemed to others as a mere stupidity

It was all over in 15 mins, we sat there burping
Our next motto was sleeping
Meanwhile our mobile phones started beeping
The professor came near us creeping.

Then in the evening, we started for our bus
Fellow students and juniors making it a big fuss
Finally ending up in a mess
Sitting inside bearing the smell of sweat.

Then we did reach home, our kingdom of heaven.
By the time it was seven
Laid myself down the hall, looking at the ceiling
Thinking about the day sent my head spinning

Then i was served my dinner
Looking at it made me feel the breadwinner
I felt myself a sense of pride
Wickedly smiling at my people sitting beside.

Then came the sleep, the greatest gift
I sprang to the bed very swift
Then i pulled over the little blanket
I could smell the scent of a gorgeous brunette

Then i was in the forest for a hunt
I did'nt want to bear the brunt
My dad pressed the alarm button
Aint i woke up, i would have been chopped like a piece of mutton.

Then we had our semester exams
Studying even at the last moment
Results came like a thunder, so as the comments
Parents ready to burry us under the ground with loads of cement.
We are brave warriors,
Ready to die in the battlefield as martyrs
We finally achieved our victory during the final test
And came out of college thudding our chests.

I can still visualize those classic moments
Looking at people and passing comments
Still missing my college life
Just as a man who would feel the absence of his wife.

Gone are those days like the winds
just like an athlete would sprint
College life was just another world
Often thinking about it made my swirl.

For me life goes on a path that is plain, at any cost
But the days of my life in college are over, which is why i call it "Paradise Lost"
